These wind turbines weren't here last time I was up in Northumberland, not commissioned yet but they're to supply the Merck Sharp and Dohme plant in Cramlington with most of its power. One other picture of the turbines on my flickr pages - next to this one (click on the photo)
Disorganization personified, music, and faith and computing - but zero attention spa..

Energy photos
Some sensational (IMHO) photos in todays Guardian of various power plants by Mitch Epstein.
In Britain, this might be regarded as somewhat cranky though pretty harmless, but in the mass paranoia of the post-9/11 Bush era, Epstein's journey became the act of an enemy of the state. We were lucky last week in our tour of Welsh power plants! His book is available here with some more photos.
He was regularly stopped, searched, followed, run out of town, shouted at and interrogated by state police and the FBI. Simple pictures of electrical power production in the everyday landscape of middle America became an exploration of political and corporate power, a portrait of the American landscape and people defined by an energy-dependent consumer lifestyle.

Squirrel takes out swissGrid
According to this (German) site and the Register a red squirrel took down Swiss TV - in the middle of the Olympic closing ceremony - forcing them to miss Boris and David Beckham - at least it was a red squirrel (European terrorism rather than a US import).

Nice picture of the substation on the German site..
