Teaser Tuesday
The rules are:
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) 'teaser' sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- You also need to share the title and author of the book that you’re getting your 'teaser' from .. that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you've given!
He watched her, bent over to sweep the floor, and remembered how she used to smack Anulika's bottom for not bending properly to sweep. 'Did you eat mushrooms? Sweep like a woman!' she would say, and Anulika would grumble that the broom was too short and it wasnot her fault that people were too stingy to buy longer brooms. From Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun, I read her Purple Hibiscus a bit back and enjoyed it and am finding this equally absorbing - though I'm just at the first (of I suspect a few) 'look away now!' moments!
