The rules are:
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) 'teaser' sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- You also need to share the title and author of the book that you’re getting your 'teaser' from .. that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you've given!
There was a car up ahead on one side of the road, its front end an accordion pleated around the engine block, and he pulled up behind it, his brights on, and ran to the driver's side to see if anyone was hurt. But the car was empty, empty with the emptiness of an abandoned house, and as he got back to the truck, soaked and shivering, he realised that he was at the Boatwright house, where cars were ranged around the drive and the lawn the way some people planted petunias.Anna Quindlen's Blessings - our book group book of the month (one set in the summer going by our current set of themes). Nice imagery but those sentences are long (and they're typical or maybe even on the short side). I started off having problems parsing the information on the back cover - 'In a box is a baby and Skip Cuddy, the caretaker who finds her decides secretly to keep her.' my initial image being of Skip being a soft toy kangaroo! Early days yet will see how it progresses! Here's a review. (yes I know it's Wednesday!)
